COLORADO SPRINGS — On Thursday, millions of Americans celebrated America's 243rd birthday, including in Southern Colorado.
Bancroft Park was the place to be in Old Colorado City. There was music, food, games and a chance to get your know neighbors. Most everyone taking part say they like the laid back approach to celebrating the Fourth, but they still like the fireworks the most.
"Probably, you know, try and go near the park, but not too close to it to watch the fireworks, but not get trapped in the traffic hopefully," said Aaron Gaddis.
There was a small fee to take part.
