COLORADO SPRINGS — Saturday night just before 7 p.m., the Colorado Springs Police Department was notified of a crash involving a pedestrian and a Ford pickup.
CSPD said the crash happened on the bridge in the 200 block of West Cimarron St.
When officers arrived at the scene, they contacted the driver of the pickup and found the pedestrian deceased.
According to CSPD, the pickup was traveling east on Cimarron, approaching the Cimarron Bridge, when the female pedestrian, who was standing on the center median, tried to cross eastbound Cimarron and was hit be the pickup. The woman died at the scene.
CSPD said this is the 37th traffic fatality in the city this year. At this time in 2018, there had been 42 traffic fatalities.
No further information was released. Anyone that was witness to this accident is asked to contact the Colorado Springs Police Department.
