HANOVER — The Hanover Fire Department posted photos on Facebook late Monday night of a break-in at one of its fire stations.
The fire department said the El Paso County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident. The Hanover Fire Department said it happened sometime between Sunday afternoon and Monday afternoon at Hanover Fire Station 1, which is located near the intersection of Peyton Highway and Hanover Road. Firefighters said the individual broke into the station by busting through a door in the south bay of the station.
"I hope that this is not what our community is coming to where the Fire Departments in our region has (sic) to install alarm systems and surveillance cameras," the department posted on its Facebook page.
It's not clear what, if anything, was taken.
