Authorities identify 2 people found dead on the northside of Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs Police have identified the two people that were found dead on the city's north side on Nov. 28.

At 1:27 a.m. on Nov. 28, officers responded to a shooting call for service at a residence in the 11000 block of Hanging Valley Way. When they arrived, they found two people dead.

The El Paso County Coroner’s Office has identified the two people as 22-year-old Francis McKinnis III and 18-year-old Wolfgang Massie. While the Coroner’s Office will make the official cause and manner of death determination, these deaths are being investigated as homicides.

This continues to be an active investigation and further details will be released as appropriate.

These deaths are the 36th and 37th homicide investigation in Colorado Springs in 2020. The CSPD investigated 24 homicides at this time last year.
