COVERING COLORADO — For the last two years local piano player Papi Sorrels has played a 24-hour Pianothon in a local bar.

This year, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, local businesses will need extra help bouncing back. That's why Sorrels is planning an even bigger event.

Every Saturday in May he'll play for 24 hours at a local bar, raising money to help those businesses stay afloat.

Each bar will have a drive-in system set up so people can watch the show on a movie screen outside, from the comfort of their on vehicle and listen on the radio's FM dial . They can also safely order food from a carhop.

Sorrels will be taking request during each show on Facebook Live, and highlighting local businesses.

5/2 - Slingers Smokehouse & Saloon
5/9 - Roosters House of Ramen
5/16 - Knucklehead Tavern
5/23 - The Chicken Coop
5/30 - Alchemy

Sorrels says The Chicken Coop in Black Forest is especially in need of a help because they have a tavern license only, and no kitchen. That means they have not been able to offer carryout meals that would help keep them afloat or offer employees continued income.
