WIDEFIELD — A summer tradition continued in Widefield this past weekend, with a different look this year.

For the tenth year in a row, the Widefield Parks & Recreation department hosted "Movies in the Park".

"We did this years ago, every weekend," said one moviegoer. "We used to go to drive in movies all the time when the kids was growing up, so I think this is keeping us sane."

This year's annual tradition did look a bit different due to COVID-19. Families were asked to keep their distance & wear masks while watching the movie.

"It's really awesome that we're able to be part of a community that does stuff like this and keeps everyone involved," explained a Widefield resident.

If you missed this past week's 'Movies in the Park', there will be more on Friday in Colorado Springs.

In Monterey Park in Colorado Springs, Victory World Outreach will be showing Disney's Inside Out starting at 7:30 p.m.

Wilson United Methodist Church will also be hosting a 'Movie on the Lawn' at 7:30 p.m., where they will also show Disney's Inside Out.

Both movies are free to the public, but moviegoers are asked to remain socially distance and wear masks to the event.
