COLORADO SPRINGS — People with allergies often experience a runny nose, sneezing, or a cough. Now those symptoms might lead to concerns of COVID-19 symptoms.

Experts say the flu and coronavirus come with a fever, and COVID-19 patients also have difficulty breathing.

Tree pollen is a main cause of allergy symtoms at this time. Asthma and discomfort fromother environmental issues can also be factors.

"As people are spending more time inside, they might be around their pets more, their cats and dogs, molds inside the house, dust and all sorts of irritants can cause, again those symptoms," said Dr. Daniel Soteres from Asthma and Allergy Associates in Colorado Springs.

Doctors say there are many good over-the-counter drugs for cold and allergy symptoms.

If those don't seem to work it's best to talk to your doctor or to a specialist.
