AGUILAR — A small school district in Southern Colorado just completed its first week of in-person learning.

The Aguilar School District has about 100 students and did not have any issues in their first week.

The district is following COVID-19 guidelines like medical screenings, masks being on, & social distancing.

ASD will also close two days per month, usually on Monday & Thursday for a three-day weekend.

The weekends are used to also deep clean the district buildings.

"We are also seeing that kids are trusting," explained ASD Superintendent Stacy Houser. "They trust us to do the right thing, they trust us to keep them safe and we are living up to that or we want to live up to that."

ASD is also offering online learning, but very few families in the district are using that option.
