Authorities issue evacuation orders due to Decker Fire

The Chaffee County Sheriff's Office issued mandatory evacuation orders and continues to update areas under the notice. Residents in the area can go to the Red Cross evacuation center for information and food. They may also take large animals or pets to designated locations.

Pueblo Police searching for possible armed carjacking suspect

The Pueblo Police Department was able to locate a vehicle and possible weapon in an armed carjacking incident. PPD is still searching for the suspect who is described as a 5'9" or 6'0" male with a heavy build, short dark hair and prominent brow.

Aurora, beloved Air Force Academy falcon, has died

The unique falcon was not one of the Academy's performance falcons but she did often make public appearances and was known across the cadet wing for her lively spirit, according to the Academy. Aurora was a White Phase Gyrfalcon and the Academy's oldest mascot.

Southern Colorado sees the chilliest air since last Spring today!

A cold front overnight has brought incredibly cold air into southern Colorado, as well as thick stratus clouds. There will be spotty mist and fog across the region this morning, especially in northern El Paso county, which should disappear by mid morning. Cloud cover will remain thick during the morning with the sun coming out around lunch time.

Pueblo elementary needs help building new playground

Belmont Elementary's community playground was torn down Wednesday because it was deemed unsafe. The school is applying for grants to build a new playground, but community members can help out as well with donations.
