Letecia Stauch to make first appearance in El Paso County court

The woman accused of killing her 11-year-old stepson is going to make her first appearance in court Wednesday afternoon. Letecia Stauch was arrested in South Carolina on March 2 on the following charges: 1st Degree Murder (victim under 12) by a person in position of trust (Class 1 Felony), child abuse resulting in death (Class 2 Felony), Tampering with a deceased body (Class 3 Felony), and Tampering with physical evidence (Class 6 Felony).

Southern Colorado colleges and Academy District 20 prep for coronavirus

Schools in southern Colorado are ramping up efforts to keep students and staff safe as the coronavirus continues to spread.Some local colleges are even extending their spring break. Come next weekend you won't see students back at Colorado College as the school has decided to extend its spring break by one week, until March 29th.

Active weather sets in over the next few days with all eyes on a winter storm chance for this coming Friday. We're going to see wonderful weather today with sunny skies followed by patchy cloud cover and gusty winds in the afternoon. Police need help identifying suspect, victim in carjacking and kidnapping

The Colorado Springs Police Department is asking for help identifying both the suspect and the victim of a possible carjacking and kidnapping. The victim left her car running in front of a 7-11, where she was at the counter when she saw her car being stolen. Police said the woman yelled her kids were in the car and then ran outside to try to stop the car.

Ramp closure on I-25 and Interquest for bridge repair on Wednesday

The Colorado Department of Transportation will be working on bridge repair at the southbound I-25 Interquest Parkway exit throughout the day today. This may impact your commute as drivers will be detoured to the Briargate on-ramp. Crews will be out at the exit starting at 9 a.m., so remember to plan your route ahead of time.
