Woman shot in the head, suspect at-large in Colorado Springs shooting

It happened around 9:25 p.m. in the 1400 block of Querida Drive, which is near Chelton Road and Palmer Park Boulevard. When officers arrived they found the victim in a home there. The suspect had left the scene before police arrived.

Bounty hunters involved in scuffle during a protest in downtown Colorado Springs speak out

Justin and Dustin Brooks said they were assaulted by protesters, prompting both of them to draw their guns yesterday. Both men were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct in connection to the incident, but they say they plan to fight those charges.

National Night Out happening tonight

The event aimed at bringing neighbors and law enforcement officers closer together is happening following increased tensions over an officer-involved shooting last weekend in Colorado Springs. It begins at 9 a.m., when licenses that have gone through the draw process but still have a quota remaining will be sold to hunters on a first-come, first served basis.

August heat with spotty thunderstorms

Storm action will be limited today because of monsoon moisture being pushed west of the state and the lack of an east wind to help spark storms against the mountains.
