State Patrol investigating fatal motorcycle crash on Highway 83

BLACK FOREST – Colorado State Patrol is investigating a single vehicle motorcycle crash that occurred Sunday, May 5th on Highway 83, near Bennett Ln.

CSP said 43-year-old Jack Sage, of Castle Rock, was driving southbound on 83 when he rapidly decelerated and lost control of his Harley Davidson.

The motorcycle overturned and rotated, eventually coming to rest in the northbound lane.

Sage was ejected from the motorcycle as is it slid and rotated.

CSP said Sage was not wearing a helmet and suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash. He was transported to Penrose Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Alcohol and excessive speed are not being considered as factors in the crash, according to State Patrol.
