PUEBLO – The Pueblo Police Department wants to warn everyone about a phone scam going around.
They recently received several reports of a scam where the caller states they are “Officer Brian Ward” or another associate of the Pueblo Police Department and they are threatening to arrest you for a warrant they have.
The scammer then tells you to buy a Visa gift card and take a picture of the receipt. Once you buy it, they tell you to send a picture of the receipt and the last eight digits of the card purchased. The caller then says you should meet them at the police station.
If you get a call like this, simply hang up or call Pueblo police at (719) 553-2502.
