COLORADO SPRINGS – Police have identified the person who died in a crash Thursday afternoon on Barnes Road near Purcell.
When officers arrived at the 6400 block of Barnes they found the driver of an SUV with serious injuries and a passenger, identified as Jose Alonso Robles Pulido, 20, deceased.
The driver was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The investigation by the Major Crash Team shows the SUV, a white GMC Envoy, was traveling westbound when the driver lost control, hit the curb, and rolled before coming to rest on its wheels.
Both Pulido and the driver were ejected. The driver’s name and current condition have not been released.
Colorado Springs police say this is the city’s 15th traffic fatality in 2019. At this time last year there were 16 traffic deaths in the city.
