Suspect in W Colorado Ave shots fired call tracked down by fugitive unit

EL PASO COUNTY – A man wanted for a shooting incident just west of Colorado Springs is now in the El Paso County Jail on charges of attempted first degree murder and firearms violations.

25-year-old Bradford Coleman is accused of firing 5 to 6 shots at a man sitting in a vehicle along the 3000 block of W Colorado Avenue on May 1st.

Witnesses reported seeing the suspect leave the area of on foot towards Midland Trail before entering the nearby Travel Lodge Motel.

Deputies set up a perimeter to find the suspect but Coleman had already left the area. He was tracked down a week later by the Metro Fugitive Unit. A release from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office did not state where Coleman was found, however, they thanked Manitou Springs Police and Colorado Springs Police for assisting in the case.

Bradford is charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, Illegal Discharge of a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender, Menacing and Reckless Endangerment.
