Animal cruelty case leads to felony and misdemeanor charges

EL PASO COUNTY — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has issued two arrest warrants for Brian Holloway, accused of animal neglect in a case involving several emaciated horses.

Investigators say they first responded to the property in Slocum Road in early March and found 10 horses found to be in various stages of starvation, two dead horses were also located.

The Humane Society and Dumb Friends League Harmony Equine Center participated in the search of the property and removed remaining living horses to be moved to an approved boarding facility.

Holloway now faces two counts of Felony Cruelty to Animals and 10 counts of Misdemeanor Cruelty to Animals.
