DENVER – Ahead of 4/20 this weekend, rideshare service Lyft is encouraging riders to plan ahead and choose a safe ride if they plan to use marijuana.
As an incentive, the company is offering a $4.20 discount on one ride on Saturday, 4/20.

The company said they are committed to creating safer and more liveable cities, and is proud to work with local organizations and partners, like the CDOT and the Marijuana Industry Group.
According to a Lyft Economic Report, 45 percent of Denver riders explore more areas of their city as a result of using Lyft and 76 percent are less likely to drives impaired due to the availability of Lyft.
“This 4/20, we’re encouraging those taking part to plan ahead with a Lyft ride as we continue to work towards safer streets and communities,” said Gabe Cohen, general manager of Lyft Rockies Region. “We’re thrilled to be collaborating with CDOT and MIG as we work toward a similar goal and commitment, as well as provide Denver residents with a responsible and reliable ride option. We’re also incredibly thankful to our drivers who help people celebrating in Denver get to where they need to go.”
