Suspect detained following double shooting in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS – Colorado Springs police said a suspect is in custody following a reported double shooting early Tuesday morning.

Police tell us two people were taken to the hospital, but both victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to recover.

Police said it happened around 3:30 a.m. in the 34000 block of Colony Hills Road, which is in a neighborhood north of the intersection of Milton E. Proby and S. Academy Boulevard.

A witness told News5 it happened after a fight broke out between three people who knew each other. It’s unclear at this time what led up to the fight.

CSPD Lt. Joel Kern said the suspect was spotted later near the intersection of Academy and Galley where that person was detained.

The suspect has not yet been identified.
