COLORADO SPRINGS – Police say they’ve detained a suspect after finding a woman dead from multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the 8th Street Walmart in Colorado Springs.
Police responded to the area around 3:30 a.m. after a man called 911 and said he shot someone. Officers then met with the man at the Walmart store, where they found the victim, who was dead when they arrived.
Police said they’re not sure if the shooting happened at the store or at another location, possibly outside of Colorado Springs. Police still are not releasing information about what may have led up to the shooting.
Earlier in the morning, police classified the case as a death investigation. It’s unclear if this case is being investigated as a homicide at this time. However, police did say all suspects in the case have been accounted for and there is no threat to the community at this time.
The suspect’s name has not been released.
