Alex O’Brien joins the First Alert5 Weather Team

COLORADO SPRINGS – KOAA News5 welcomes Meteorologist Alex O’Brien to the First Alert5 Weather team starting in early June.

Alex is a Colorado native returning to the state after covering wild weather in and around Lubbock, Texas at KAMC News.  Prior to KAMC, Alex worked at the 24/7 weather channel, Weather Nation, as a producer and meteorologist.

“Alex will be a terrific addition to the First Alert5 Weather team,” said KOAA5 News Director, Ryan Hazelwood. “Her love of Colorado and her excitement in covering our extreme weather conditions mean she’ll fit right in here.”

“I am so thrilled to be coming back home to forecast the weather and connect with the people of southern Colorado,” said O’Brien.

Alex grew up in Greeley, Colorado and received a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology and a Minor in Mathematics from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
