PUEBLO – People are speaking out about the possible closure of a Pueblo school.

Heroes Academy is one of the schools on the chopping block after D60 Superintendent Charlotte Macaluso announced her recommendations last week.

If the school board votes for closure, most of the elementary school students will go to Irving or Morton, while the middle schoolers will go to Risley or Heaton.

One mother shared her concerns for her son.

“This is where I put and invested my time with and I don’t want to move him because change is something not good for him for his disability mentally, physically, or emotionally,” said …

Minnequa is the other school being recommended for closure.
