Clerk shoots would-be robber at Centennial gas station

CENTENNIAL – A would-be robber at a gas station in Centennial ended up at Children’s Hospital after the store’s clerk shot him early Saturday morning.

Reporting partner 9News in Denver said a juvenile male attempted to hold up a Shell station on the corner of E. Arapahoe Rd. and S. University Blvd. just before 6 a.m. Saturday.

The juvenile was armed with a gun, but so was the clerk at the Shell station.

According to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, the clerk pulled out a gun and shot the would-be robber.

The clerk was not injured in the incident. The juvenile suspect was taken to Children’s Hospital with unspecified injuries.
