COLORADO SPRINGS – Shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday morning, CSPD took an attempted murder suspect into custody on the east side of the city.
The suspect was identified this afternoon as Daniel Bush. His booking photo is not available as of late Sunday. CSPD said he was wanted in connection to a shooting Saturday afternoon on Platte Ave.
Around 11 a.m., officers spotted the suspect’s car near Marion Dr. and North Academy Blvd. A chase ensued that finally ended when an officer was able to force the suspect’s car onto a curb and another officer collided head-on with the suspect’s car.
In total, three CSPD vehicles were damaged in the chase and one officer suffered minor injuries.
Southbound lanes of Powers from Galley to Platte were closed for several hours while CSPD completed their investigation and cleared the scene. The lanes were reopened between 3 and 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
