SAN FRANCISCO – Wells Fargo said most online banking services are operational after power was shut off at a facility Thursday.

The bank said smoke was detected at a remote facility, which prompted the shutdown. According to the company, this incident was not due to a cybersecurity incident.

Wells Fargo said consumer cred card and mortgage balances are still not available, but the company is working to fix it.

On Thursday, users reported issues using Wells Fargo’s website, app and even their debit cards. The company said people can use credit and debit cards and ATM service is now operational as are physical locations.

The company said any fees incurred as a result of the shutdown will be refunded to users.

Wells Fargo said customers can call 1-800-869-3557 if they have questions. However, there will be longer than normal wait times.
