COLORADO SPRINGS – Colorado Springs Police have arrested a second person in connection to decades of suspected sexual assaults on children and child pornography production.

Police announced Tuesday morning that they arrested 46-year-old Charles Portis Jr. Portis for accessory to a crime for sexual assault on a child and sexual exploitation of a child.

Police said Portis served as an accessory to 67-year-old Joseph Davis. Davis was arrested on Dec. 18, 2018 for sexual assault on a child in a position of trust. Detectives said they discovered evidence of sexual abuse of other children and the production of child pornography that dated back at least 35 years.

Police also said Davis lived near a school, a community center and a park. CSPD said detectives have contacted and interviewed “a number of witnesses and potential victims.” Detectives are still interested in speaking with anyone who may have had contact with Davis at or near his home.
