COLORADO SPRINGS – Wednesday, the Colorado Springs Police Department recognized outstanding officers and members of the community for their contributions to public safety.
Each year, the department high lights courageous actions by officers and citizens.
The ceremony, which was held at Stargazers Theater, was attended by several city leaders, including Mayor John Suthers.
Among those recognized, were 12 officers who received “Life Saver” awards and four who received “Department Commendations.”
17 citizens and two local organizations also got awards of appreciation.
