CSPD investigating two jewelry store heists

COLORADO SPRINGS – The Colorado Springs Police Department is currently investigating two jewelry store robberies and working to see if the crimes are related.

According to CSPD, just before noon on Friday, 1/25, two black male suspects entered a jewelry store in the 5700 block of Constitution Ave. One suspect was armed with a handgun.

During the robbery, a fight occurred and a victim was injured by one of the suspects.

CSPD said the suspect fled the store with jewelry in hand and were seen running south into a residential neighborhood.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Later that same day, just before 4 p.m., four black males armed with handguns entered a jewelry store in the 1700 block of E. Woodmen Rd.

CSPD said display cases were broken and jewelry was taken. The suspects fled the store in an easterly direction.

CSPD said their detectives are investigating the two cases and working to see if they are connected.
