COLORADO SPRINGS- A man who had painted Pikes Peak more than 120 times is sharing off his work.
Jack Denton is a retired art teacher from Tennessee, he came to Colorado Springs while traveling to the southwest. He says it was love at first sight when the saw America’s Mountain, and since then, he’s spent a lot of time trying to capture the mountain’s magic.
“This is six years of my life,” Denton said. “There’s so much to it, so many layers, I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface.”
You can see the work for yourself for free. It’s on display in the Wellness Center at the Garden of the Gods Club through Monday, Jan. 14.
