COLORADO SPRINGS – Renovations and new exhibits are coming to Colorado’s oldest nature center.

On Saturday, Bear Creek Nature Center is hosting an open house to show off what’s new. New exhibits, including the state’s only greenback cutthroat trout exhibit, are designed to keep the center interesting for visitors of all ages.

“But this, the exhibits, really give them kind of an insider look at some of the common
species that they find out there and also the stories, really interesting stories,” said nature center supervisor Mary Jo Lewis.

Saturday’s open house runs from noon to 3:00, and includes free entertainment, food, and demonstrations. Experts will also be there to answer questions from visitors.
