DENVER – Denver Police said a 43-year-old woman turned herself in following an investigation into the death of a boy that’s believed to be her 7-year-old son.

Police said Elisha A. Pankey is suspected of child abuse resulting in death. She turned herself into police Wednesday. DPD said they first learned about the case from the Aurora Police Department on Dec. 23.

From there, police said their investigation led them to a storage unit off of Evans Avenue, where they found the child’s body. The cause and manner of death have not yet been released. The boy’s name has not been released either.

Denver Police are asking for help in the investigation. If you have any information about Pankey or the boy, call the Metro Denver Crime Stoppers tip line at 720-913-STOP.
