Gov. Hickenlooper appoints El Paso County Court Judge in 4th Judicial District

EL PASO COUNTY – Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper has appointed Samuel A. Evig as a judge on the El Paso County Court in the 4th Judicial District.

According to the Governor’s Office, Evig has been a partner with the law firm of Dahl, Fischer, & Wilks, LLC since 2017. His practice primarily involves criminal defense.

Prior to this position, Evig served as a Senior Deputy District Attorney and a Deputy District Attorney with the 18th Judicial District.  He earned his B.A. from Adams State College in 2001 and his J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2005.

Evig’s appointment is effective as of Jan. 8, 2019.

The Governor’s Office said this is Hickenlooper’s 185th and final court appointment in his eight years in office.
