MONUMENT – State Patrol has identified two teenagers as the victims of a deadly crash on Highway 105 east of Monument Thursday morning.

17-year-old Kaden Currier of Monument and 17-year-old Avory Kvale of Colorado Springs died at the scene of the crash.

Troopers say Currier was driving a 2002 Acura west on 105 when he lost control and was broadsided by an oncoming semi truck.

Both teenagers died at the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured.

District 20 released a statement early Friday saying both students were attending Discovery Canyon High School.

Due to the sudden and tragic loss of two students the district’s counseling team and crisis team will be available at the school campus Saturday, December 29th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm for any students, staff, friends or family that need support.

The district is also urging parents to reach out to school counselors if needed if any students need additional help coping with this loss.
