GRAND JUNCTION – A new billboard along the I-70 business loop in Grand Junction is raising some eyebrows.

The billboard was paid for by the Western Colorado Atheists and Free Thinkers.

The sign encourages passers-by to skip church on Christmas.

“The abuse and the fraud in organized religions is rampant,” said a member of the group.

“I don’t think they have the right to say that I need to change my beliefs so they can feel more comfortable,” said a resident opposed to the billboard.

The billboard won’t be up for much longer, as it is slated to come down the week after Christmas.
