PUEBLO – A stolen white pick up truck from Colorado Springs is now recovered after a Pueblo police officer noticed someone trying to use black spray paint to change the color of the vehicle at a motel on the north side of the city.
While officers were running the plates on the truck and waiting for that person to return, they noticed another car facing the wrong way on the side of the motel. They wondered if maybe the occupants in the car were somehow involved with the stolen truck and decided to speak them.
Officers determined that they had no connection to the truck, but one of the men was wanted on 30-thousand dollars in warrants, including one for assault and another for possession of dangerous drugs. He was taken into custody.
At 1:44 a.m., Ofc. Joe Cardona saw a pickup in the parking lot of a north side motel. Someone was trying to change its color from white to black, albeit not very successfully, with spray paint. Ofc. Cardona ran the license plate & learned the pickup was stolen out of the Springs. pic.twitter.com/l7O8KR5Mno
