COLORADO SPRINGS – After several Colorado Springs neighborhoods experienced an increase in home delivery related crimes, the Colorado Springs Police Department made a concerted effort to target porch pirates.
The CSPD Strategic Investigation Unit along with the CSPD Crime Analysis Unit targeted the porch pirate crime pattern utilizing home security footage submitted by citizens via several apps and websites.

From the footage, CSPD was able to identify and arrest five individuals over the last two days. CSPD said in some instances they were able to recover stolen property and return it to victims.
The department said the success of the investigation was largely due to the amount of quality security video provided by victims and community members.

Police have identified 5 suspects in their investigation. We’ll post their booking photos as soon as they are available.

45-year-old John Mullins – Theft
