EL PASO COUNTY – Teams of volunteers were out again Saturday looking for missing college student Kevin Rudnicki. The 20-year-old went missing September 2 after going on a hike on Mount Herman. Around a dozen volunteers split up into three search parties to look for Kevin or any signs of where he may have gone.

Front Country Coordinator Rob Meeker said that the area where they are searching efforts is in a steep canyon near the headwaters to Monument Creek. Some cliffs and boulders in the area range from 50 to 200 feet in height.

“It’s steep terrain, there are mountain lions that are up there. So, we’re getting into that area where it’s actually nice to not have a big crew,” Meeker said. “It’s nice to have like 3 small crews that we can trust, that are physically capable, that know the area.”

In previous searches, a pair of sunglasses that looked like a pair worn by Kevin were recovered.
