COLORADO SPRINGS – Southbound Academy Boulevard is closed between Palmer Park Boulevard and San Miguel Street while crews work to repair a broken water main Friday morning.
Colorado Springs Utilities says the road will remain closed through the morning commute.
According to CSU, the detour for southbound Academy has changed. Please use Palmer Park west to Circle, south on Circle, east on Galley Rd. The previous detour route was becoming overwhelmed with traffic. The affected portion of southbound Academy should reopen by Saturday afternoon.
Northbound lanes are not impacted.
