COLORADO SPRINGS – There is still time to get a free Christmas tree.

Eight years ago The Christmas Tree Project began with one tree in Colorado Springs.

Since then the group has given away more than 3,000!

The mission is to put trees into homes that couldn’t otherwise afford them.

“You don’t have to qualify, you just sign up. We do that on purpose so that people don’t have to go through the rigamarole of proving they need a tree, and I can tell you, 99% of the people that come through here absolutely need a tree,” David Fein said.

The giveaway is Saturday Dec. 8, 2018 at 9 a.m. at 4575 Galley Road.

You have to be signed up before you head out, to do that click here.
