FREMONT COUNTY – The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office had identified both the suspect and victim involved in a shooting Tuesday in Rockvale.

25-year-old Bryon Wallingford of Penrose has been arrested and is being held on $5,000 cash bond for first-degree assault at the Fremont County Jail.

The victim of the shooting has been identified as 33-year-old Bryan Redmon of Fremont County.

On Tuesday morning, Fremont County deputies responded to the Rockvale area on a reported shooting. The person who called them said a man had approached her saying he had just been shot.

Deputies were able to obtain a vehicle description and Wallingford’s name as a person of interest. A short time later he was located in Canon City.

Redmon was transferred to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. His status has not been updated at this time.
