PUEBLO – Students in Pueblo are getting a leg up on learning new technology.

This week is coding week for District 60 and kids are learning computer science skills.

Students at Irving Elementary were learning to code Wednesday.

“I hope they learn that coding is a skill that is in huge demand out there in the world and I really hope that they have an understanding that there is a place in the world where they can go out and they can make their mark using these kinds of critical thinking skills that we taught them,” said 5th grade teacher, Quinn Mcnierney.

The district said tens of millions of students in more than 180 countries are part of the global program.
