COLORADO SPRINGS – It was another record-breaking year for the Turkey Trot 5K in Colorado Springs. The number of runners and walkers was near 4,200, which is about 300 more than the previous year.

“It’s great conditions. You can’t ask for better,” said Race Winner, Scott Dahlberg. The temperature for the 9:00 a.m. start was in the 40’s and the sun was out with no wind. Dahlberg ran for the win. Others used the race as an excuse to eat as much as they want later in the day.

The Turkey Trot is put on by the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region. Along with promoting healthy living, the race raised tens of thousands of dollars for the YMCA. The race proceeds help supplement people who may not be able to afford YMCA programs.
