COLORADO SPRINGS – A 30-year old man is in jail and a woman and child are safe after an argument turned into a barricade situation 14100 block of Albatross Drive Tuesday morning.

When El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the home, a woman with a hand injury told deputies that Bradley Knighton was barricaded inside the house with their two-year-old child.  They tried to get Knighton to open the front door and he would not do so. They also tried texting, calling and talking to the man over a PA.

SWAT was called to the scene and a warrant was obtained to gain entry into the home. Knighton was found a short time later hiding in the basement holding his child. The child was not injured and he was taken into custody peacefully.

He is charged with Third Degree Assault, Harassment and Child Abuse.
