CRIPPLE CREEK – The man facing a retrial for the killings of his mother and stepfather in Woodland Park back in 1992 has pleaded guilty.

41-year-old Jacob Patrick Ind has entered a plea of guilty for second-degree murder. He’ll be sentenced in late December.

Ind was just 15 years old when prosecutors say he killed Pamela and Kermode Johnson. He was previously convicted and sentenced to life in prison.

Last year, he was granted a retrial as his attorneys handling his appeal said his court-appointed attorney in the first trial kept him from testifying.  Ind has said the killings were motivated by longstanding physical and sexual abuse.

Prosecutors were pursuing charges of first-degree murder against Ind.  There’s no word what a plea to the lesser charge of second-degree murder will look like in the case, in regards to how much more time, if any Ind could face behind bars.
