AURORA  – Aurora Police said officers have arrested a juvenile suspected of bringing a gun to Rangeview High School following some scary moments Friday afternoon. This afternoon authorities confirmed it was a BB gun that looks very much like a real firearm.

Rangeview High School was placed on lockdown while Mrachek Middle School and Vassar Elementary School were placed on secure perimeter status while police searched the high school for the suspect.

Police said they have recovered the weapon that prompted the lockdown. No shots were fired and no one was hurt in the incident.

Students who were outside of the building were taken to a King Soopers parking lot at E. Iliff Avenue and S. Buckley Road, but no evacuation of the school occurred, contrary to earlier tweets from APD.
