Lockout over at Fountain schools after Police clear the area

FOUNTAIN – Just after 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, Fountain Police reported they were in the area of the 300 block of East Ohio investigating a wanted party.

According to police, as a precautionary measure, Fountain Middle School, Welte Education Center, and Aragon Elementary were put on lockout at 1 p.m.

As the school day ended, one bus at a time was picking up children from the schools and taking them home Only bus riders were allowed to leave during the lockout. Parents were asked to not drive to the school to pick up students, as access was blocked.

Just after 5 p.m., Fountain Police reported the lockout was over, the area had been cleared, and all students were released.

Fountain P.D. said they were unable to locate the wanted subject.
