PUEBLO – The city of Pueblo will accept a $65,000 grant to cover overtime costs for Pueblo police officers checking speeders in the Steel City.

The CDOT grant is aimed at reducing the number of deadly accidents by having more officers on the road.

Pueblo Police have received this grant for about six years, but the amount of money varies each year. Police tell us they typically save the money for the summer season, when they see more speeding violations on the road.

The grant covers the months from October 2018 to September 2019.
