COLORADO SPRINGS – A man who shot his mother’s boyfriend during an argument in May 2017 was sentenced to 10 years in prison for reckless manslaughter.
Grant Motsinger was arrested on May 20, 2017 on a second-degree murder charge after Kirk Maroo was shot inside a home on Vermillion Bluffs Drive.
According to investigators, there was a domestic dispute inside the Stetson Hills home when Motsinger grabbed his gun and then got into a struggle over the weapon with Maroo.
Motsinger pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of reckless manslaughter earlier this summer. After serving his 10-year prison sentence he’ll be under community supervision while on parole for 3 years.
