COLORADO SPRINGS – Two people are recovering from minor injuries on Monday after a two-alarm apartment fire at 1134 Westmoreland Rd. on Sunday night.
Quick work by Colorado Springs firefighters kept the flames contained to just one unit. The person who lived in the unit is displaced at this time, but after the flames were put out at 11:30 p.m., everyone else who lives in the complex returned to their units.
Firefighters say they had a little good luck with this fire. Colorado Springs Police officers were on another call in the area when they saw the smoke and flames. The officers ran into the apartment building and started evacuating people, which prevented this from being far worse.
