FOUNTAIN – CDOT is warning drivers to be mindful of work starting later this month on I-25 near Fountain.
Crews will begin installing cable median barriers on Sept. 14 along a four-mile stretch of the interstate from Milemarker 125.2 to 121.1. CDOT said the cable barriers reduce the risk for crossover head-on crashes on the highway.
The work will happen from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, closing one lane in each direction. Speed limits will be lowered to 55 mph in the construction zone as well.
Work is expected to finish before the winter.
