COLORADO SPRINGS – A man hospitalized after a head on crash in Colorado Springs last Friday has died.
Police said 54-year-old Patrick B. Drake died on Aug. 29th from injuries sustained in the wreck. At the time police said Drake, who was driving a Dodge Ram pick-up truck crossed the median on Woodmen and hit another pick-up truck head on.
The driver of the second vehicle suffered minor injuries. Both vehicles were only occupied by the drivers.
Police said they do not suspect drugs, alcohol or speed as contributing factors and are not planning to file any charges.
This death marks the 34th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year. Right now this is equal to the total number of fatalities in Colorado Springs in 2016. At this time last year, there were 24 fatalities.
